North-west of Cuiabá is the beautiful national park of Chapada dos Guimarães. The area hosts several waterfalls, canyons and natural stone formations that look like the ruins of an ancient city.
Chapada's other claim to fame is that it is the geographical centre of South America. This is highlighted by an unexciting cement block, but the view is amazing! We were stoked that we had come all the way from Tierra del Fuego, the “end of the world”, to the middle of South America. Here's hoping we make it to the top!
